What is Dogosterone™ Therapy

and How Does it Work?

Dogosterone™ Therapy is a skilled treatment method that involves the injection of testosterone to increase your pet’s ability to get around.  Dr. David Bieber developed this treatment after his chocolate lab, Bruno, became paralyzed in his hind legs due to a lower back herniated disc. As a hormone, testosterone maintains both muscle mass and bone density, but dogs that have been neutered or spayed have absolutely none. Dogosterone™ Therapy treatments will vary by dog, their condition and severity of the symptoms. Before treatment begins, a full evaluation of your pet is completed to determine if your pet is a candidate.*

Symptoms of Canine Hip Dysplasia

Hip dysplasia, arthritis, chronic intervertebral disk disease, muscle atrophy, degenerative joint disease and other conditions can cause a pet’s quality of life to decrease as they struggle to get up and around, to play, and to function in daily life. As bones, joints and muscles start to lose functionality, a pet may face difficulty getting up from a laying down position, and/or may experience soreness, limping, stiffness, hesitation to exercise, play or even walk upstairs. Dogs typically slow down and show less zest for life as their condition worsens. While these conditions most commonly affect older and larger breeds of dogs (e.g. retrievers, great danes, german shepherds, etc.), dogs of all ages and sizes are susceptible.  But almost all dogs can be treated, thanks to the Dogosterone™ Therapy developed by Dr. Bieber. It has a 95% success rate and no known side effects.  Pets are truly part of the family, and our goal is to go above and beyond for their health and well-being.

Dogosterone™ Therapy Results

Dr. Bieber has been researching Dogosterone™ Therapy since 2008 using spayed and neutered dogs of all ages and sizes that have demonstrated mobility difficulties, such as standing up from a laying down position or otherwise getting around.* He officially started offering the treatment in 2009, and the results have been nothing short of amazing – in fact, his success rate has been 95%.  The vast majority of pets treated with testosterone injections saw an increase in mobility and energy, with some even returning to a full range of motion.  As many as 25% of canines in the U.S are either neutered or spayed and could potentially benefit from this therapy which ease their pain and support a return of mobility and energy, even in their old age.
